Differences Between Hallman Boost Controllers

Hallman Boost Controllers are some of the best manual boost controllers on the market today. They are made with high quality aluminum and stainless steel for a long, problem free life. Hallman controllers include the ES kit, the Pro kit, the Evolution kit, the Lancer Evolution kit, and the cockpit controller add-on. The Pro and EVO kits also come in an "RX" model with added benefits.

The Hallman ES Kit

The Hallman ES kit is the entry level kit. This controller provides the best bang for the buck, and is suitable for most applications. The body is made out of billet aluminum that is anodized black. It has an easy to use knob for boost adjustments. This valve has overboost protection, just in case the knob comes lose, although this is highly unlikely. This kit comes with 3' of vacuum hose, 4 cable ties, and installation instructions. This kit uses a 316 stainless steel ball.

The Hallman Pro Kit

The Hallman Pro manual boost controller is a setp up from the ES kit in terms of features and design. It is machined out of billet aluminum, and anodized in your choice of red, black, blue or purple colors. The Pro valve incorporates the best adjustment knob on the market. There is no locking nut or need for a wrench. You simply turn the adjustment knob, and it stays. The adjustment knob also cannot be lost or separate from the valve. There is no risk of overboosting, once the boost is set, as the knob is permanently fixed.

The Pro kit also comes with 3' of vacuum line, a mounting bracket to hold it in place, a hardware packet for the installation, and complete instructions. This kit uses a 316 stainless steel ball.

The Hallman Pro RX Kit

The Pro RX kit uses the same valve as the Pro kit, but has added features. This kit comes with 2 interchangeable springs, as shown in the picture above. The lighter spring is used for those who want a precise adjustment of up to 5psi over stock levels. The heavier spring will allow adjustments greater than 5psi above stock.

Instead of using the 316 stainless steel ball, this kit uses a lighter weight ceramic ball, which weighs only a fraction of the standard ball. What you get is faster response from the controller as the ceramic ball can react faster to constantly changing directions.

The Pro RX kit is our personal recommendation based on the added benefits over the ES and Pro kits, as well as future capabilities for cockpit control, should you desire.

The Cockpit Controller Add-On

The Hallman cockpit controller add-on is a great tool for those who already own a Pro series kit, and want to be able to make adjustments from inside the car! This add-on kit has a 72" cable. The Pro valve remains mounted beneath the hood, but the cable runs into the car, so adjustments can be made to the boost levels without stepping foot outside of the car. This add-on works only with the Pro series, and does not work with the ES kit.

The Hallman Evolution Kit

The Evolution kit incorporates the Pro Valve and the cockpit controller for an all-in-one unit. It comes with the Pro valve, the 72" cockpit controller, 3' of vacuum hose, a mounting bracket, hardware installation package, and complete instructions.

The Hallman Evolution RX Kit

The Hallman Evolution RX kit incorporates the Pro RX valve with the cockpit controller add-on. It comes with the lighter ceramic ball, both the light and heavy springs, a mounting bracket, hardware installation package, 3' of vacuum hose, and full instructions.

The Hallman Evolution Lancer Kit

This kit is known as the Evolution Lancer kit, or the Evolution short kit. It was designed specifically for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The kit combines the Pro valve with a shorter, 49" cockpit controller. The Mitsubishi EVO does not need a full length cockpit cable, as the turbo is located at the rear of the engine. Using this kit will give you the perfect length, with no extra slack! This kit comes with the mounting bracket, hardware installation package, 3' of vacuum hose, and full instructions.

The Hallman Evolution Lancer RX Kit

This kit is the same as above, except it incorporates the features of the RX model valve. The kit comes with the lighter ceramic ball, light and heavy springs, mounting bracket, hardware installation package, 3' of vacuum hose, and full instructions.
